There is a special feeling when you see a community serving together, sharing a meal together, and worshipping together. This past Friday we kicked off our first week of missions here in SC! We always like to end the week with a big celebration with the members in the community we are serving in, it’s a big and exciting atmosphere.
This summer we have an amazing group of community members taking complete ownership of cooking the meal for these community worship nights. They bless the summer staff as well as the groups with a good ole southern dish. This is their way of saying thank you for all the hard work put in. If there’s one thing that you will notice about this area, it’s that southern hospitality does in fact exist and is alive and active. These community members sure do know how to express their gratitude!
In this partnership with this community, valuable time is spent during these Friday nights having meaningful conversations and singing beautiful traditional hymns. It’s a time to not only connect with each other, but also reflect and thank God for what He’s doing amongst us. It’s evident that unity resides in all these pieces that seemingly connect. We believe that a community that celebrates together, stays together – and that’s one large community, brought together in lots of unique and profound ways!
