Hello Team and Supporters,

All the planning and preparation for this summer is really paying off… I want to give a shout out to all the Next Step Staff who have done all the behind the scenes planning, which has made for a great first week of trips this summer!

Yes!! Week one is in the books and the ball is rolling. Here is a quick run down on what type of projects we are doing this summer.

1. Build a new addition bedroom and bathroom for a large family that currently has no bathroom, but an outhouse about 200 feet from their home.

2. Build an entire roof and deck over new container homes that are for new housing and church community opportunities at Restoration Church.

3. Remodeling the “Higher Grounds” Christian Coffee House in Pine Ridge.

4-8. Everything from new roofs, to decks, siding, to skirting, for various homes and homeowners who are excited for the partnership, help, and for the work to be completed.

In talking with the different homeowners and the summer intern team, there has been a lot of good connections and conversations. One resident made a huge lunch and served the whole team, another has been working right alongside the team as a part of helping with intern responsibilities, another has been making jokes and telling stories while the team works. These are just of few of the examples of how each homeowner is “giving back” and being apart of what the teams are doing this summer. And it is great to see.
