Construction Site Supervisor

Employment Dates: May 19 – August 5, 2025
The Construction Site Supervisor (CSS) is responsible for ensuring the success of all construction operations at their worksite. As CSS you will train and lead volunteers to serve in substantial and meaningful service projects, partnering with local organizations and using hands-on construction to meet community needs. You will be responsible to learn project specific construction skills, maintain a high quality of work, manage tools and material inventory, and direct volunteer labor to run a smooth work site. You will use hands-on management to develop your experience as a leader, teacher, problem solver, and teammate. With training and support from your Construction Project Manager (CPM) and Next Step Senior Project Manager, you will be challenged and rewarded as you serve those around you and are poured into by your peers and leaders this summer to develop spiritually, personally, and professionally.
Pre-Summer Responsibilities:
- Mandatory Pre-Summer Development: An online training series focused on technical skills and leadership training in order to prepare you for a summer with Next Step
Summer Responsibilities:
- Ensure the required manpower, materials, tools and logistics are prepared for your work project
- Lead, equip, & support volunteers to complete construction service projects with excellence
- Learn project specific construction methods & techniques through NSM provided resources
- Maintain material inventory and estimates to procure material accurately and within a budget
- Ensure weekly project progress is on-track with budget & completion targets
- Understand and communicate each project’s purpose & requirements clearly
- Ensure Procore status updates are completed daily
- Communicate regularly with volunteer leaders and community members to ensure Next Step meets needs & exceeds expectations
- Implement & maintain Next Step Safety Standards for an safe, efficient, and fun worksite
- Preserve the quality of Next Step power tools, equipment and vehicles
- Maintain a positive working relationship with the CPM and Next Step Senior Project Manager
- Ensure building processes comply with design intent and local building codes
- Perform site lay out and obtain field dimensions when required
- Contribute beyond your construction role in all areas of mission trips & evening programming
Qualifications:
- Must believe and follow Jesus Christ and hold to Next Step Ministries’ Statement of Faith.
- Obtaining a BS in Construction Management or related field preferred but not required
- Basic construction experience and knowledge preferred but not required
- Experience in leadership and/or missions preferred but not required
