Position Description:

As the Service Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the mission site, ensuring that lodging spaces, supplies, and shared areas are organized, clean, safe, and welcoming. You will create sustainable systems for host site facility care while equipping students and teammates to take ownership of maintaining the site. Through servant leadership, you’ll help create an environment where ministry can happen effectively and participants feel cared for. Another key aspect of this role will be maintaining the relationship with our host site making sure we are meeting their needs and respecting their spaces.  This position provides an opportunity to develop leadership, organization, problem-solving, and hospitality skills while serving alongside students and community members during daily work projects and mission activities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily lodging facility operations and site organization
  • Communicate with host facility to ensure we are maintaining a good relationship
  • Create cleaning schedules and organize student cleaning teams
  • Train and lead students and teammates in facility care responsibilities
  • Manage cleaning, administrative, and hospitality supplies
  • Maintain inventory of non-food supplies
  • Identify facility needs and communicate issues to the Team Leader
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for teams
  • Coordinate site setup and breakdown processes
  • Develop sustainable systems for facility maintenance throughout the trip
  • Assist with logistics and operational needs as they arise
  • Lead and participate alongside students at work projects daily
  • Create a fun, safe, and engaging work site atmosphere for students
  • Participate in daily devotions and nightly worship
  • Contribute as a team player in all aspects of mission trip facilitation

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be a believer in Jesus Christ and hold to Next Step’s Statement of Faith
  • Previous mission experience preferred
  • Previous leadership experience preferred 
  • Experience managing teams, facilities, or operations preferred
  • Highly organized and able to manage schedules, systems, and supplies
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Heart of hospitality and servant leadership
  • Ability to encourage and lead students and volunteers
